~ The Continuation of the USA Today Bestselling Series ~

It's only been a few days since Veterinarian Amy Lewis escaped Asgard with the FBI's professional hacker, Bohdi Patel. The escape involved "borrowing" Odin's magical, world-walking, eight-legged, horse, Sleipnir. Now Odin wants Sleipnir back. FBI Director Steve Rogers doesn't want Odin getting anything he wants. Amy and Bohdi want to set Sleipnir free. The horse has his own ideas. A story (mostly) from Sleipnir's point of smell.

The Slip I Bring the Fire 45 A Short Story eBook C Gockel

There aren't many books that hook me, but this first one did. I have become addicted to this series and cannot read it fast enough. I am eager to finish the other books. If you enjoy fantasy novels, I suggest you give it a go.

The books aren't long and they do tend to cliffhanger but that doesn't bother me.

This book contains no sex scenes, and virtually no swearing. That said, it has adult situations, and mentions of mythological tales.

Interesting twist on the myths. Loki is the HERO. It was great to see Loki personified in these books.
The characters are richly drawn and it is easy to suspend disbelief about the existence of gods and magic. The slow reveal of more and more Norse mythology tie-ins to current day life was just really cool.

Ms. Gockel is proof that the self published authors can put out something every bit as good as the big name publishers. I'm keeping this author on my watch list.

The Slip I Bring the Fire 45 A Short Story eBook C Gockel Reviews

I have thoroughly enjoyed every one of the books in this series. The characters are well developed. The plots are fast paced and holds you in suspension the whole time. I just reread the series and enjoyed it even more than the first time, because I could now pick up on the subtle details that becomes important later on as the story develops. To me it is always a sign of a good book - or series - if it is better the second time round. The Slip is a nice titbit to fill out the main story.
I found I remembered everything about the Loki stories the moment I started reading even though it's b some time since I read the lastl

Great stuff.
I loved this story, and I have found a new author to love. This story about Sleipnir reminded me of when I was a child, reading the encyclopedia (yes, I would just READ the encyclopedia that we had, and I just found out recently that my husband used to do the same thing when he was young - yes, we are both weird) and I came across an entry for Norse mythology. I was enthralled by the stories of Odin and Thor and Loki and all the other Norse gods, and especially of Sleipnir, the wonderful stallion with eight legs. This story brought Sleipnir to life for me, and I felt a renewed connection to my Viking heritage. Having the Norse mythology brought to life in the modern world is a wonderful and engaging idea.
Another I Bring the Fire tale but told from Odin's world-walking steed's point of view. Maybe I'm prejudiced, but it seems to me that the horse in this case is smarter than the people. Amy, Bodhi and Sliepnir have escaped from Asgard and are back in what seems to be their own timeline. However, Odin wants his horse back and sends Valkries and soldiers to get him. Will Slip stay free or go back to Odin?
Sleipnir means the slipper because he can move through time and space. But he doesn't want to be controlled weapon anymore, he wants his freedom. Can he achieve his goal and not hurt the humans?
Nope, You sure don't have to be a 'Horse whisperer' to enjoy this story. Ms. Gockel has done it again. Taken from the point of view of the magical horse, the story adds that clever perspective to the Loki tales she spins so expertly. The eight legged horse, Sleipnir, is now the narrator and focus of the action, and is completely delightful in both his understanding of the other characters, and interpretation of heir actions. I personally can't wait for more of this side of the story. I think I am not alone. You will be too.
This is a very brief story about Sleipnir, Odin's magical, sentient, 8-legged horse. Being the son of Loki, he shares some of Loki's traits, including lie detection and being mischievous. Told from the horse's perspective, it's a warm tale that fits right into the rest of this series.
